Group and Private Tours

Group and private visits to West Point offer a great experience for all ages and interests. West Point Tours can plan your visit to maximize your enjoyment of West Point’s unique place in America’s history and its continuing role in preparing leaders for America’s future.

Are you seeking Guide Services for a personalized historic tour? Are you a School or Scout Group seeking to explore the rich history of one of America’s oldest treasures? Select from among our different tour options. You can combine your tour with lunch or another activity in the beautiful Hudson Valley (please note at the present time we are not offering packages).


Tour Guide Services

West Point Tour’s guide services will bring history to life for your group or private tour. If arriving on your own bus we will provide a step-on guide. If you need a bus we have both motorcoaches and school buses to accommodate your group. We are currently not providing a step on guide service for private cars or vans.

 At the present time we are only offering the West Point Story and History and Tradition tours.  

To reserve a guide or for further information please fill in the Submit Tour Request Form under the tour descriptions to begin creating your unique West Point experience. Please note we do not take reservations by phone.

All tour requests must be made no less than 10 business days in advance of the tour date and will require payment in full. A manifest on our form is due at the time of the request or no later than 7 business days prior to the tour date in order to provide security the necessary time to run background checks on all passengers. Please review our Security Requirements at the bottom of this page. 

School And Scout Groups

School & Scout group pricing is effective for school class and scouting trips visiting between September 15 and June 15. For class and scout trips visiting between June 16-Sept 14.

Create a rich educational experience for your students with a tour of historic West Point. Our guides can tailor the tour to focus on specific areas to complement your curriculum. Whether emphasizing the Revolutionary period, military history, the traditions of the Academy, or more, our knowledgeable guides and hands-on application will help bring history to life.


Group Tour and Lunch Packages - currently packages are not being offered

For groups of 30 or more, West Point Tours can arrange for your lunch on the grounds of West Point or at a local Highland Falls restaurant. Presented on this page are lunch options as well suggestions of some other activities to round out your day in the Hudson Valley. West Point Tours can make all the arrangements.

West Point Military Security Requirements For Groups

West Point is an active duty military post. All guests are required to submit accurate ID information on the manifest we will provide, produce the same ID on the day of the tour (no photocopies accepted, no exceptions), and are subject to a West Point security background check.

  • WEST POINT ACCESS CONTROL-guests will be denied a tour based on any of the following reasons.
    1. NCIC-III contains criminal arrest information about the individual that causes the senior commander to determine that the person presents a threat to the good order, discipline, or health and safety of the installation.
    2. A claimed identify that cannot be verified based on the reasonable belief that the person submitted fraudulent identity information in the attempt to gain access.
    3. Current arrest warrant in NCIC, regardless of the offense or violation.
    4. Current bar from entry or access to a Federal installation or facility.
    5. Conviction of crimes encompassing sexual assault, armed robbery, rape, child molestation, production or possession of child pornography, trafficking in humans, or drug possession with intent to sell or distribute.
    6. Conviction for espionage, sabotage, sedition, treason, terrorism, or murder.
    7. Being a registered sex offender.
    8. Felony conviction within the last ten years regardless of the offense or violation.
    9. Felony conviction for a firearms or explosives violation regardless of when the conviction occurred.
    10. Engaged in acts or activities designed to overthrow the U.S. Government by force.
    11. Been identified in the NCIC KST file or TSDB report as known to be, or is suspected of being, a terrorist or belonging to an organization with known links to terrorism or support of terrorist activity. Installation access control personnel will strictly follow the FBI’s published engagement protocols.


  • Everyone over the age of 17 years old is required to bring government issued photo ID.  Drivers license, learner’s permit, DMV ID, or passport. Students between 16-18 years of age may bring high school photo ID. Original documents only, NO PHOTO COPIES.
  • Foreign visitors of ALL ages must have their passports. Original documents only, NO PHOTO COPIES and if required, a non-expired visa.
  • Each group must send in the completed manifest we provide at the time of the reservation no less than 7 business days prior to the tour completed with the names, dates of birth, gender, type of ID (State for DL Country for Passport). If information is found to be inaccurate during the background check the guest will be denied riding the tour until visiting the security desk in the visitor center to complete another background check. All tours must end by 5:00 PM daily.
