On this tour, our guide boards your vehicle for a combined bus and walking tour which tells the story of West Point, its role in the Revolution, its famous history, along with stories about graduates who shaped our nation. The tour will bring the Long Gray Line to the present as you learn of the cadet experience and West Point’s continuing role in training the leaders of tomorrow. This tour goes around the post with stops at the Main Cadet Chapel and Trophy Point overlooking the Hudson River and the Plain.
The Cadet Chapel may be closed to visitors with no advance notice. You are off the bus for approximately 1 hour. Easy walking. Tours may begin after 9:00 AM and must conclude by 5:00 PM.
This tour expands on the West Point Story with an additional tour of the Old Cadet Chapel and West Point Cemetery. This fascinating tour emphasizes the history of West Point through the stories of some of U.S. military's most famous individuals laid to rest in these hallowed grounds. Hear more about Alonzo Cushing, George Custer, Ed White II, William Westmoreland, David "Mickey" Marcus, Norman Schwarzkopf, and many more.
On this tour, visitors spend about 1 hour and 20 minutes off the bus at the various stops, most of which is outdoors. Some pathways may be unpaved and the ground uneven. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
This tour combines the West Point Story 90 minute tour with a 1 hour guided tour of the West Point Museum, our nation's oldest federal museum. Your group will visit galleries expanding on the wide contribution of both West Point and the U.S. Army to the development of our country.
You are off the bus approximately 2 hours. Moderate walking with stairs in the museum. Tours may begin after 9:00 AM and must conclude by 5:00 PM.
Offered Friday through Sunday, June - August only, this tour combines the stops of the West Point Story with a visit to Fort Putnam. Fort Putnam is a meticulously restored fortification that was a major component in the West Point battlements during the Revolutionary War. The fort is located on a hill overlooking West Point and offers panoramic views of the Hudson River and West Point.

The United States Military Academy at West Point is renowned for its focus on teaching and training the leadership skills needed for a career in the United States Army. As we tour the campus our guide will illustrate those principals using examples drawn from the many famous graduates who have applied them in their career and life beyond the military. The tour will cover the history and tradition of West Point with stops at the Main Cadet Chapel, Trophy Point, Battle Monument, and the Plain.

Tours operate daily except for:
- The Saturdays of Army home football games
- Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day
- During Graduation Week on May 23, 26, & 27

- All tours must end by 5:00 PM daily.
West Point Military Security Requirements for Groups
West Point is an active military post and as such requires the following from our group visitors.
- Everyone over the age of 17 years old is required to bring government issued photo ID. Examples: Drivers license or passport. Students between 16-18 years of age may bring high school photo ID. Orignial documents only, NO PHOTO COPIES.
- Foreign visitors of ALL ages must have their passports. Orignial documents only, NO PHOTO COPIES.
- Each group must send in a manifest sheet completed with the names, dates of birth, gender, and type of ID being used. Click here to download form. Click here if you need further instructions to complete the manifest.
